International Women’s Day isn’t about perfection for us.
It’s about real life.
It’s about building a business while packing lunches.
Replying to emails between school pick-up and dinner.
Launching products with washing still in the machine.
Hillson Apparel was built in the middle of chaos.
Two mums. Four kids under four at one point.
Not fully knowing what we were doing.
But knowing we wanted more.
More flexibility.
More ownership.
More freedom.
There are days we still look at each other and say,
“Why are we adding more to our plate?”
Because the mental load is real.
The juggle is real.
The expectations are real.
But so is the fire inside us.
We created this business for women like us.
For mums who want to do both.
For women who refuse to believe that having children limits what they can build.
Yes, we are mums.
Yes, we are busy.
Yes, it’s chaotic.
But we are also strong.
We are capable.
We are fierce.
And most importantly — we are showing our children, especially our girls, that they can grow up and build whatever life they choose.
International Women’s Day, for us, is about backing each other.
Backing women in business.
Supporting mums with big ideas.
Cheering for the small brands trying to make it happen.
You don’t have to choose one version of yourself.
You can be the mum.
You can be the business owner.
You can be both.
